I absolutely agree with your opinion. I notice that domestic workers are working too hard. They are meant to help with housework but they certainly are not slaves. Every working person deserves a rest.
You have a good point in saying that it would be risky to give them a day off since they might encounter mishaps when they wander around. Outings with the employers’ family would be a better option instead of giving them a day off.
Because these domestic workers have to work almost all the time for their employers, they usually resort to sneaking out of the house just to ‘unwind’. We can't blame them entirely for doing so as they are always busy that they don’t even have leisure time. I feel it is good that the MOM brought this matter up.
